In Oct.2011, the "Industrial Process Intelligent Control Innovation and Talent Recruitment Base" applied by our School of Internet of Things Engineering obtained project approval.
Our "Industrial Process Intelligent Control Innovation and Talent Recruitment Base" is based on national strategy and urgent need of the industry and guided by traditional industry transformation and upgrade and strategy emerging industry development of the Internet of Things. It develops in the field of process control optimization, intelligent identification and systems, identification and control theory. It brings together a group of world-renowned academic masters and academic experts including Torsten S?derstr?m, Josef Kittler and Sirish L. Shah to work closely with us. We aim to integrate basic theories of control and IoT technologies with industrial production, so as to study and solve the fine control problems during the production process of food and biology and the smart factories based on IoT.
The application and approval of "111 Project" in our "Industrial Process Intelligent Control Innovation and Talent Recruitment Base" is the third innovation and talent recruitment base of "111 Project" following the innovation and talent recruitment base of food safety processing science and technology, and that of applied microorganisms and biological manufacturing technology. This not only fully demonstrates the strong scientific research level and good foundation for international cooperation in the superior disciplines of our school, but also plays an important role in improving the international competitiveness and teaching and scientific research level of our control and computer disciplines. In addition, it actively promotes the construction of international IoT R&D and application areas.

Professor of Department of Automatic Control at Uppsala University, Sweden, Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and member of the Council of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC). The main areas of research are system identification, statistical signal processing, and self-adaptation system.
Professor of the Department of Chemicals and Materials Engineering, Alberta University, Canada, Academician of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. His research interests include process and performance monitoring, system identification, and design and implementation of soft measurement.
Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering, University of Surrey, United Kingdom, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. His main research fields are Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis and Computer Vision Theory and Applied Research.
